Why don't you,,,
Make Diane Pernet your Role Model?

Do you know Diane Pernet?
She was active as a costume designer in New-York during the 80s. Then she became the editor of a fashion magazine and concentrated mainly on the runway scene.
Now as a fashion film journalist, she sponsoring a movie about fashion, style and beauty that she curated, called A Shaded View on Fashion Film (ASVOF).
The truth is that I myself learned about her from a blog article on Webflakes, the site that translates my articles into English (oh my, sorry for being so ignorant).
I haven't caught up yet on what kind of a person she is personality-wise, but I recognized her the moment the article below popped in front of my eyes:
After all, you can't really forget someone like her, can you?
I was so inspired to be able to actually meet her this time in Tokyo at the opening of A Shaded View On Fashion Film!!
If you look at the picture I'm sure you'd understand: having style means that when taking photos you don't blur and you don't fuzz.
I'm not talking about techniques of taking pictures, but look at the people around her: they're all blurring galore (well, that does include your truly). They're all so bland; they don't leave a mark in your memory at all, do they?

However, Diane Pernet herself has already burned a mark in the back of your mind, hasn't she? You are not likely to forget her, are you?

That's what I'm talking about! Having style.
It is about not getting diverted by other things every moment. Take pride in your overwhelming presence, and burn your existence bright and clear into people's minds.
There are people who can do this who were born with good looks, or who cosistently wear the same fashion, unchanged (of course regular fashion is a no-no); there are many ways to have style.
It's not an easy thing being consistent, not diverting, deciding completely about your own character role, because ordinary people tend to change depending on the time, or the day or their mood.
Moreover, no everybody can make themselves wear a head-turning style on days they don't feel confident about themselves.
That's why people change over and over.
Of course in her case, after having accumulated experience over a colorful long life, the totally-black style she has appropriated for herself is like that of a widow.
Her resignation about living is different, isn't it?
But for those of you who are still young, who haven't looked for yourselves, who have no experience or self confidence... for the likes of you, this is hard. You probably still want to enjoy all kinds of different things.
But, if you think you would like to have a certain style someday,

why don't you make Diane Pernet your role model?

A Shaded View On Fashion Film(ASVOF)主催

A Shaded View On Fashion Filmのオープニング
